I'm working on making it a prefab now and looking for some input on defense ideas, as well as design ideas and aesthetics. However, even the most difficult hordes will be slowed down, giving survivors time to deal with them, especially when the zombies have been weakened at the least. So I'm working on an end game base design and would be interested in finding some people to bounce ideas off of. Placing iron spike traps on top of the iron layer covering the mine, as well as on the outside of the fence surrounding that layer, will make the mine impenetrable, except against the most difficult hordes. To that end, building spike traps, if taking the more primitive and resource-friendly route, is a phenomenal solution to dealing with zombies trying to eat players as they gather ore. Thus, fans can focus on mining and upgrading their equipment and defenses while the zombies make their futile attempts to hamper progress.
This allows players to save ammunition or melee weapons’ durability, as well as their time, by not having to worry about killing zombies themselves. The best raid defense by far is reducing the number of raiders that want to break into your base. Letting the undead re-kill themselves so players are not attacked when leaving their mine is the most optimal solution.
